Symmetry

Have you ever heard the saying 'Easy on the eyes'- that's I think pretty much what our brains see as attractive- symmetry, smooth lines, things that don't overload our brains and senses. They are actually easier for us to take in and process.

So, did God make us this way for a reason? Is it really a kind of 'natural selection'- the 'good looking' people couple up and the 'unattractive' people just die alone, without reproducing children with similar flaws?

Coming from a Christian perspecive, I find this very confusing. Don't we all have equal worth? Doesn't everyone deserve to be happy and loved?

What do you think?

As to wyhat God is thinking when the asymetrical are born, I don't even have a guess. Perhaps it's to prove that the right ideas will rise to our comprehention, no matter what the physical appearance of the original thinker.

In one of your earlier posts on you interesting site, you asked if society prefers the attractive. Completely. Is time on the side of the better idea, no mater who speaks it? Without question. This blog is a great idea, and I look forward to seeing more posts.

What a great topic for a blog...and the main colour matches perfectly to it. Looking forward to new post. Ireland, where I'm currently living, "America's Next Top Model" has just started...no brain but boobs.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Mike- Thanks!
Maybe God IS teaching us through this human nature that in the end, looks really don't matter. Apparently Jesus Himself wasn't much of a looker, and Albert Einstein could have used a brush. It really does take all kinds to make society interesting.

ahoj- I hear Ireland is wonderful! America's Next Top Model is definitely a human-nature study in itself! Some people seem to think that they can get through life on just their looks (which sadly seems too often be true). There have been some clever and sweet girls spotlighted also- which shows that appearances can be deceiving both ways.
